Climbing Coach: Lossie Maafu

Personal
As a parent of two daughters (2yr and 10yr), Lossie understands how learning needs change for differing ages and stages.Over the past 5 years she has become adept at coaching beginners, intermediate and advanced climbing lessons for children, teenagers and adults. In all cases, Lossie believes that safety is paramount. In addition to being a specialist climbing coach, Lossie also runs EOTC classes on behalf of Te Waiariki Purea Trust, with a focus on teaching and assessing:

* Rock climbing skills
* Abseiling
* Knots and anchors

Lossie is also an active member of the Rotorua climbing club and has recently become the secretary for the non-profit organization.

Training and Experience

* Coaching rock climbing/abseiling and ropes skills for 5 years.
* Regional Coach for Climbing New Zealand in 2011.
* Certified Climbing New Zealand Judge and official
* Trainer of 3 climbers who attended the World Youth Climbing Championships over 2010/2011
* Certificate in Adventure tourism

* 3 years of white water rafting
